Calling all girls!
I invite you to join me in celebrating all BIRTHDAYS through “HER Causes.”
It is a birth of a new journey for me focused on raising awareness for women’s causes. Speaking up for what needs some attention and providing encouraging stories and examples that will inspire women from all walks of life to do the same. We may feel so alone when we face the challenges and issues women go through on a daily basis, but together, if we extend a hand to one another, there is nothing that WE can’t get through in this thing called LIFE.
“Her Causes” is a space filled with PURPOSE and PASSION! A place where all women can gather stories, struggles and experiences, as well as success and celebrations. A place of beauty, comfort and soft surroundings where women can speak honestly, find support and acceptance. Also, to be brave, bold, learn, find healing, dream and create without limits in order to BIRTH new beginnings.
WELCOME to HER CAUSES!
How the inspiration was birthed:
~ My 50th Birthday! ~
I will never forget it! It was definitely the BIRTH of a new journey for me. I was in the middle of living my life as an “empty-nester” (prior to my BIG 50th Birthday) and was in the midst of much reflection, asking myself: what’s next?
Both of my children were adults doing their own thing and living their lives. The oldest, my son, was a Combat Medic (Army) in Iraq for his year-long tour, and my daughter (my baby even though she doesn’t like to be called “my baby”) was beginning her junior year of college. And it was time, so I thought, for me to do my own thing: get my book going and start a new business. But, NO, something unexpected happened! My baby, at twenty years of age (with her whole life ahead of her, right?) called me one evening, very anxious, to the point where I asked, “Are you pregnant?” And the answer was… YES! Well, needless to say, my “empty nester” way of living changed completely! I switched into FULL MAMA MODE again! I did not ask silly questions like, “How did this happen?” I just responded in a way I would have wanted my mother to respond, by assuring her that we (my husband and I) would love and support her decision – even if we did not agree with what she chose. That’s exactly what we did. My daughter’s decision inspired me to create “HER Causes.”
~ The Truth ~
It was not an easy journey for me. I’d made plans and had to once again, put them on hold and possibly give them up for a period of time to help her help herself. I encouraged and guided her the best way I knew into the process of being a young, single MOMMY, with as much love and support I could possibly give her. I knew it would not be easy for her because I had been right where she was standing, but what’s a MAMA to do? Being a MOTHER is a forever job and as hard as it gets sometimes, it’s one of the best job’s this life has given to me.
~ The Mission ~
Encourage other MAMAS, both young and more seasoned, to stick together, live life together and build a community of strength and power, strong enough to withstand the storms of life – no matter what unexpected curve ball life throws our way.
~ The Belief ~
We as women need each other.
We have so much to give.
We can learn from one another and we help each other.
We need the support and wisdom that only women can provide from a woman’s perspective.
We were made to nurture.
We were made to give birth, not just the childbearing kind, but also to give birth to new beginnings, new journeys and fresh starts.
We were made to never give up or give in, but to find a way somehow to survive and thrive in a way that gives hope and inspires others.
That’s is what WE as women were made to do everyday.
She hopes, she encourages, she relates.
